Job summary

As a key member of the Radiotherapy Planning team the post-holder will take a lead role in managing the radiotherapy waiting list, tracking and scheduling patients to ensure compliance with national and local targets working closely with clinical staff to agree appropriate pathways and prioritisation.

The post-holder will be required to manage systems and processes to assist the Radiotherapy service to be compliant with the 31 /62 day Cancer Wait Targets

Main duties of the job

  • Actively manage patients' pathway through Radiotherapy process in accordance with National and local protocols, ensuring all deadlines within the planning process are met and highlighting potential waiting time breaches to Superintendent Radiographers.
  • Liaise with other departments and healthcare professionals both internal and external to UHCW NHS Trust to assist patient flow. ( I mean MDT co ordinators, dental team, or booking interpreters )
  • Utilise the Mosaiq Oncology Management system to forward plan and track patient pathways interrogating other Trust Databases for patient information as appropriate.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload ensuring effective management of time and resources.
  • Produce and analyse waiting time / activity reports. Present these reports at departmental/Trust meetings as appropriate.
