Job summary

The successful applicant MUST have experience of general Trauma and Orthopaedics at Registrar level due to involvement in the MTC On Call rota at middle grade level. They must demonstrate an ability to work well with colleagues and relate to patients in an understanding and sympathetic manner and have good organisational skills.

The applicant MUST have MRCS or equivalent and we particularly welcome applicants preparing for or who are post FRCS (Tr&Orth) examination seeking MTC and/or Spinal Surgery experience for CESR Application.

Please not that these posts are part of our Registrar/NTN training grade posts to cover expansion of our service & gaps for NTN posts and are not sub-specialist post CCT Fellowships as such. These are advertised separately.

Main duties of the job

Regular Orthopaedic outpatient and fracture clinics at the Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital and Rugby St Cross.

Operating sessions as required

Working with the consultant to supervising the treatment of patients in The Hospital of St Cross and University Hospital.

Carrying out regular business or teaching ward rounds as appropriate.

On-call and trauma duties including nights and weekends

Participation in clinical audit within the Unit.

Active involvement in the training and supervision of Junior Medical Staff and medical students on ward rounds, in theatre and in clinics.
