Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Press and Communications Officer who is looking for a challenging role that will really make a difference to over a million patients and more than 10,500 staff by leading and further developing the media function within the Communications team.
No two days are the same in our hospitals. As our Senior Press and Communications Officer the work you do will help enhance our reputation and you will take centre stage in helping shape and sell our stories. We do a large amount of work with TV, radio and social media - you may have seen our Trust in the spotlight when the world's first Covid-19 vaccine was administered in Coventry or on BBC Hospital Series 7, A&E: Crash Scene Emergency, Sky News and BBC Panorama. Your knowledge and expertise will provide wise counsel when needed and you will build and sustain long-lasting relationships with local, regional and national publications to help us inform and educate our communities.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who is not afraid of working under pressure, is used to acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on media issues and has a passion for delivering high quality media communications as part of a forward thinking, dynamic team. We work very closely with other NHS organisations, local authorities and our two University partners, Coventry University and Warwick University. As well as helping to further grow and develop our media offering, this senior role will support the many innovations and transformations our organisation is involved with across all aspects of communications and marketing.
