The successful candidate will partake in the same on call rota as the anaesthetic and intensive care trainees. On calls will take place in intensive care. However when not on call, the Fellow can choose to join educational activities in Intensive Care or Anaesthetics and Theatres. More bespoke options such as teaching, research, leadership or wellbeing Fellowships can be explored on an individual basis and enquiries are welcomed.
We provide a wide range of training opportunities making these posts ideal for doctors hoping to enter specialty training at stage 2 or apply for CESR.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Fellow will follow the same training pattern as the rotational trainees. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and forward thinking department with a reputation for research and education.
There are two critical care units which when combined, provide care for up to 36 level 3 patients. The Critical Care Units manage over 1600 admissions per year.
The Trust delivers perioperative care to around 44,000 elective and emergency patients, as well as providing a specialist chronic pain management service. UHCW is the Major Trauma centre for the Central England Trauma Network and offers tertiary surgical services to upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery, bariatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neuro-coiling and neurosurgery, vascular surgery, major head and neck surgery, trauma and orthopaedics, urology including robotic surgery, gynaecology, renal transplant, ophthalmic surgery and plastic surgery.
The Trust has a large Obstetric Unit undertaking about 6,000 deliveries per year, with a 25% caesarean section rate and an 18% epidural rate. We also anaesthetise about 3,000 children per year.
