Job summary

The Programme Management Office (PMO) has a key responsibility to provide senior change leadership, project management, service analysis, service redesign and capability building expertise to the Trusts Clinical and Non-Clinical Groups and Departments.

The post holder will actively contribute to the delivery of the Trust's strategic vision and objectives, supporting the development and ensuring delivery of strategic programmes of work and project key objectives by working in collaboration with senior corporate and operational leads within the organisation, and providing professional project support as required.

The post holder will have a clear responsibility to deliver projects objectives for specific work streams ensuring these are aligned with the organisation strategic ambitions.

This will be achieved by implementing and managing an effective and planned programme of activities utilising agreed tools and skills including those based primarily but not exclusively on lean thinking ensuring that progress can be tracked, and risks mitigated.

The post holder will be expected to plan and deliver a range of skills capability transfer sessions and coaching to staff at all levels of the organisation.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, highly motivated individual with a proven track record of developing and managing projects to join the Programme Management Office (PMO) as Project Manager at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust.

The role requires an individual who has a detailed understanding of project management methodologies and techniques as well as experience applying them to achieve successful project delivery.

An ability to develop positive relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders is essential, in addition to the ability to effectively communicate and work in collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels within the organisation.

The post holder will require a flexible and imaginative approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage a variety of competing priorities whilst working in a challenging and complex environment. Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge of models, theories and frameworks of Lean, process redesign, identification of benefits and change management is also essential.

Knowledge of Prince 2 methodologies and experience of working in the NHS or any other healthcare environment is desirable but not essential.
