37.5 hours, Monday - Friday with occasional evening/weekend

University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust's Learning & Development team is looking to recruit 2 Learning and Development Officers - Clinical Trainer on a full time basis.

These roles would present an ideal and exciting opportunity for people with experience of working in a clinical role delivering patient care who are interested in providing training in a variety of mandatory subjects, with a focus on the clinical subjects Moving & Handling and Basic Life Support, including provision of 'train the trainer' sessions for Manual Handling cascade trainers. The role also includes giving timely moving & handling advice to staff working in the clinical environment.

We welcome applications from candidates who don't hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject e.g. Health & Social Care, Education and Training, but have equivalent experience; and have Maths and English equivalent to a Level 2 qualification.

Main duties of the job

To provide training to UHCW employees in a variety of mandatory subjects, with a focus on the clinical subjects Moving & Handling and Basic Life Support, including provision of 'train-the-trainer' sessions for Manual Handling cascade trainers.

To actively be involved with the organisation and facilitation of the Trust Induction Programme, including the delivery of training sessions, as part of a team of L&D Officers.

Standard hours of work will be within the core office hours of either 8:00 to 16:00 or 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday although flexibility will be required including a requirement to work occasional evenings to ensure the needs of the service are met. The post holder will be based at University Hospital, Coventry and the ability to travel across the region will be a requirement of the job.

Some Soft Skills Workshops

2. Deliver Manual Handling train the trainer sessions for the Trusts cascade trainers

5. Act as the first point of contact for dealing with enquiries; provide basic guidance to learners with regards to mandatory training, best practice and development opportunities, seeking advice and referring to subject experts where necessary.

We are looking to appoint an individual with a current working knowledge of the principles and practice of manual handling and basic life support, experience of delivering training, confident in facilitating sessions with large groups of people and be keen to support the Trust Induction Programme. Individuals should also be able to demonstrate experience of working in a customer facing role and excellent communication skills.
