We have an exciting opportunity within the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust for the appointment of a senior therapy technician to work within the critical illness rehabilitation team.
This new post has arisen due to investment to enhance the delivery of rehabilitation and weaning along the critical care recovery pathway. We are seeking an individual with a passion for working in critical care.
We are looking for applicants with effective communication skills, prioritisation, and organisational skills; the ability to work on your own and as part of a team; and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The post holder will demonstrate skills and knowledge beyond that of a therapy technician, which will be gained through specific advanced training and experience with senior colleagues.
You will join a team that will deliver a high-quality therapy service to patients on critical care, and you will provide input to the critical illness rehabilitation pathway, both on critical care and the hospital wards.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to:
- To deliver, with the support of senior colleagues, a high-quality therapy service to the critical care patients at the UHCW on a day-to-day basis
- To provide input to the critical care rehabilitation pathway, both on critical care and hospital wards
- To work within the critical care therapy team demonstrating effective time management skills to independently manage a caseload of patients
- To devise and implement treatment programmes with reference to a qualified therapist
- To provide clinical support for less experienced staff as delegated by the clinical specialist physiotherapist
- To contribute to the effective and efficient running of the critical illness rehabilitation team
