Job summary

West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Health & Wellbeing Manager to join our well established team who will lead on the development and delivery of the Trusts Health and Wellbeing (HWB) strategy

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will coordinate the Trusts HWB initiatives and offerings overall, in order to meet the NHS People Plan and Trusts Strategic Objectives. To ensure the Trusts wellbeing priorities are delivered to a high standard with impactful results.

You will be required to utilise your own skills to develop, plan, organise and deliver a range of staff health and wellbeing initiatives, including campaigns and staff engagement groups. Ensuring that associated KPIs and targets are monitored and ensuring all of our regulatory returns i.e Health and Wellbeing Framework are completed

Job description

Job responsibilities

Continually monitor and evaluate the impact and success, using performance indicators, as appropriate to ensure all activities and interventions are of high quality, meet staff needs and achieve the outcomes of the Trusts HWB Strategy.

To create innovative marketing strategies to promote initiatives and general HWV messages including Trust wide communication channels, staff focus groups and social media.

To assist the Head of Human Resources on a range of workforce projects and where required to take the lead in driving through specific workforce initiatives which have a link between HWB and staff benefits and rewards and policy development.

To support the delivery of specific wellbeing projects, ensuring that any outcomes or proposals are in line with employment legislation and in accordance with NHS initiatives including the NHS People Plan and People Promise.

Analyse workforce data and trends, including Staff Surveys to support the development of initiatives and recommendations based on workforce intelligence.

To support the writing of reports to internal and external committees.

Attend, present and contribute to the Trusts Health and Wellbeing Steering Group, supporting the coordination of meetings, agenda items, liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure those involved are informed in order to support decision making around current and future HWB initiatives.

Work closely with stakeholders in mental health services, chaplaincy, health and wellbeing champions, staff side representatives, staff networks and corporate services to develop positive working relations and to support the promotion of internal initiatives.

To work alongside the Mental Health Practitioners to ensure that all of the Mental Health services the Trust provides are in line with strategic objectives and in keeping with the NHS People Plan.

To work closely with the Communications department to promote Trust HWB initiatives and campaigns.

Further develop existing and new HWB support networks and ensure they remain relevant and impactful – e.g Menopause Support, Health and Wellbeing Champions and Mental Health First Aid.

When required, attend external events and build relationships externally – e.g NHS Employers Health and Wellbeing network.

To be involved with the Trusts Occupational Health contract review and management.

Management of project based budgets.

Day to day supervision and management of junior staff, including coordinating workloads and supporting with queries.

To provide specialist advice to managers and staff as appropriate
