Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Stores Person to join our well established Education & Training team based at our Sandwell HUB.

The successful applicant will provide general maintenance, repair and stores stock management of Ambulance and Education training equipment at any site conducting educational development

Applicants must have a good standard of education including an English & Maths GCSE at Grade C or above along with a full UK driving licence and previous stores / warehouse experience

If this position involves a regulated activity it will require an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. The disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children, adults or both

Where a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for the post, all applicants are required to cover the cost of the check. The cost of £42.50 for an enhanced check is payable to our online provider at the time that the DBS application is submitted. Upon receipt of your DBS you will then be required to sign up to the DBS online update service.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Manage and maintain stores stock levels in-line with training activities, through liaison with the Education and Training Manager.

Provide fault diagnosis, repair, cleaning and maintenance of training equipment both at the Education Centre (Sandwell Hub site) and training rooms located across the hubs.

Liaise with the Trusts Logistics and Fleet Departments to ensure training equipment is serviced and maintained as per manufacturers / Trusts guidelines.

Prepare training rooms and equipment for training sessions as required.

Provide assistance in general maintenance, repair, and tidying of the Education Centres across the Trust.

Responsibility for recording, signing for, and secure storage of fluids and non class A controlled drugs.

Prepare, and deliver if appropriate, training equipment required for the provision of the overall training plan.

Receive, check, and ensure the safe storage of, deliveries to the Education Centre.

Through liaison with the Education and Training Manager source and obtain prices of training equipment, ensure minimum stock levels are maintain commensurate with the training plan.

Maintain a database of equipment & consumables (stock levels)

Receive enquiries from and liaise with other Trust departments regarding the use and availability of training equipment.

Work in accordance with documented procedures necessary to ensure compliancy with the Quality Management Systems.

Undertake portering duties as and when required.

Undertake general driving duties as and when required.

Assist in the ongoing development of effective storage systems for Education and Training

Observe the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Observe the requirements of the Data Protection Act, ensuring that confidentiality and Caldicott guidelines are observed at all times in relation to documents that are of a personal or private nature.

Use the computer/databases to maintain up-to-date records and produce information, statistical returns and management information as required
