Job summary
To provide data and governance leadership (in line with National Sarcoma Service Specification, national cancer dataset (COSD) and national cancer waiting time targets) for the University Hospitals Plymouth. This role forms part of a team of CWT Co-ordinators undertaking the tracking and reporting for all soft tissue sarcoma patients across the Peninsula. To ensure the management of patients is efficient and effective, taking into account the individual needs of the patients and the requirements of the service. To contribute to the achievement of the National Cancer Waiting Times targets, National Audits and Cancer Registry. To play a pivotal role in supporting the tumour site specific Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) in co-ordinating services to deliver the specified outcomes and targets of the Cancer Plan. To assist in preparing Sarcoma MDT agenda, tracking investigations and assisting clinical team in distributing outcomes as appropriate. To facilitate the patient pathway by tracking investigations to ensure timeliness and co-ordination of patient treatments within the National guidelines. Close and effective liaison with different departments within neighbouring and tertiary Trusts is an essential aspect of this role. Excellent organisational communication skills, IT skills, together with high levels of accuracy are therefore a key requirement for this post.
Main duties of the job
Data Validation, Submission and Reporting
Ensures data is validated and completed in time for weekly, quarterly and annual reports, plus national annual deadlines. Presented to local management teams. Advise the service leads in line with national requirements to ensure good quality data is collected in a timely manner.
Quality and Governance.
Responsible for the co-ordination of the reports returned to NHSE/I, supporting the Peninsula sarcoma leads to ensure deadlines are met and that all documentation is up to date and satisfies the requirement of the Specialist Service Specification.
MDT Meetings.
To provide administrative support to the Sarcoma UHP local and specialist MDT, this includes organising the MDT agenda and distribution across the Peninsula within agreed deadlines.
