Emergency Planning & Liaison Officer

Job summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Emergency Planning & Liaison Officer to lead our Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) and police liaison agenda.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the EPRR function, building resilience into the preparedness of the Trust, to respond to and recover from incidents. You will be an expert in emergency planning and business continuity and confident in advising and guiding senior leaders in the Trust.

The postholder will be the designated single point of contact for the Police, managing ad-hoc requests, outside of the service provided by the Disclosure Team. You will also work with senior police officers and Trust Leaders, in relation to sensitive investigations.

This is an exciting time to join University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, as we build our new Emergency Department, open an additional Urgent Treatment Centre and implement our Electronic Patient Record. These are once in a generation changes for our NHS in the South West and you will integral to these, building resilience into future services

5) To represent the Trust and actively participate in the Devon, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Resilience Forum (DCIoS LRF) including Local Health Resilience Partnership business management group, and associated work streams.

6) Interpret legislation and guidance and advise senior leaders of the associated implications for the Trust.

7) To manage and co-ordinate the Trusts Incident Co-ordination Centre, ensuring it is maintained in an operational state of readiness and emails are monitored and actioned appropriately.

8) Working with colleagues in the Emergency Department and Nuclear medicine, assist and help maintain the Trusts CBRN response capability including ensuring equipment is inspected and fit for purpose.
