Job summary
We have a vacancy a Trust Specialty Registrar in Neurosurgery, for a fixed term contract from as soon as possible, for an intital period of 6 months. The possibility of extension beyond this period is likely to be provided if progress is satisfactory. All applicants must be in possession of the essential qualifications for the post, as set out in the person specification, by the closing date.
Main duties of the job
The South West Neurosurgery Centre is based at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. The Unit is a Major Trauma Centre and provides a comprehensive Neurosurgical Service to the population of Devon and Cornwall. The population of this area is approximately 1.8 million, but rises considerably during the summer months, with the influx of visitors from other parts of the U.K. and from abroad. Close links exist with the District General Hospitals situated in Truro, Barnstaple, Exeter, and Torbay. The post provides excellent experience for aspiring neurosurgical trainees.
