Job summary

The opportunity to apply for the substantive role a Ward Manager role of the tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in a large teaching hospital.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Clinical Management Team, you will be working under the professional direction of the Matron for Neonatal and Transitional Care services, Head of Women's and Children's Nursing and the Director of Nursing for W&C. Associate Chief Nursing Officer.

You will provide senior leadership, clinical expertise, support and advice to assure high quality care provision for infants and families accessing Neonatal Intensive Care Services.

Responsible for managing nursing and support worker teams, clinical leadership, infection prevention and control and standards of patient care, you will act as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership and demonstration of competent, accountable clinical practice and modelling of Trust values.

You will be responsible for the performance management of key individuals within the neonatal service and will through appropriate staff training and updating, ensure that neonatal care is evidence based and delivered by competent and confident practitioners according to Trust policies and procedures.
