Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the busy Acute Medical Unit team as a Health Care Assistant on the Medical Receiving Unit (MRU Tamar). MRU Tamar is now part of the new emergency village and it is an acute unit for patients needing admission from the emergency department and the community for assessment. The successful applicant will be expected to act as a positive role model, deliver high quality nursing care and be keen to broaden their own knowledge and skills within the specialist field of acute medicine. We are looking for an excellent team player with fantastic interpersonal skills. Acute medicine is an exciting and continually developing area with fantastic opportunities. MRU Tamar has lots of education and training opportunities. You will need to be flexible and committed to making a positive difference with a willingness to undertake further training.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Shifts include a variation of Long days, Nights, Weekends & Bank HolidaysMain duties of the job

Participate in patient assessment providing high quality holistic patient care and escalating concerns about patients to other clinical staff members.

Lead by example and supervise/support junior members of staff to improve and maintain high standards of care.

Implements clinical care through a range of delegated clinical care duties relevant to the area of service.

To carry out a range of clinical duties with minimal / no direct supervision, escalating concerns appropriately to the clinical team
