Exciting Opportunity: Communications & Engagement Lead - One Devon EPR Programme

University Hospitals Plymouth Trust is advertising a key role on behalf of the One Devon EPR Programme. This role is crucial in delivering a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy to support the successful implementation of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system across multiple NHS Trusts.

The EPR system will impact 17,000 staff at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSD) and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (UHP), as well as existing users at Royal Devon University Healthcare Foundation Trust (RDUH).

As the Communications & Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating communications across three NHS Trusts, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment of activities throughout the One Devon EPR Programme.
  • Executing the communications and engagement strategy, tailoring messaging for both internal and external audiences to ensure the successful adoption of the EPR system.
  • Creating impactful communication assets and working closely with teams to produce content that resonates with all stakeholders.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, staff, and partner organizations to foster collaboration and engagement.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead communications for a major digital transformation project, influencing the future of healthcare delivery across the region.

Main duties of the job

Act as the One Devon Communications and Engagement Strategic Lead and Advisor

Support the Programme Director and Deputy on the strategic direction of communications & engagement

Deliver and evaluate a campaign to raise awareness; encourage staff to participate in the EPR process, such as testing and training; generate enthusiasm; and communicate important changes to maintain business continuity

To build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels across a complex and geographically dispersed organisations

To build and maintain effective relationships with engagement and communications leads from a wide variety of system and partner organisations, ensuring clear and effective channels of communications
