Job summary
The new-born hearing screening service is looking for a hard working, conscientious and committed senior screener to join our friendly team.
The ideal candidate will need to have excellent supervisory and communications skills along with the ability to prioritise workloads when deputising for the manager and will have previous experience of working within a new-born screening programme.
Accuracy within the job is paramount and the candidate will be be required to play a pivotal role in achieving national targets.
Working closely with families and their babies is immensely rewarding and although the role will be challenging it will provide a lot of variety.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
The senior newborn hearing screener will support and assist the local manager in the day to day running of the new-born hearing screening programme (NHSP), liaising with the local manager on a daily basis to discuss team issues and maintain the smooth running of the service in times of sickness or annual leave. They will be accountable to the NHSP team leader at these times. Also to promote and participate in the team approach at all times, leading local site team meetings and attending programme management meetings in the absence of the local manager.
