We would like to invite you to our Adult Nursing Interview Day on Saturday 27th April 2024.

This is a fantastic chance to explore opportunities within a setting that has dedicated and committed staff. UHP provide clinical care to the South West and are an organisation that was rated as 'Outstanding for Caring' by the CQC.

We have job opportunities available Trust wide within Adult Nursing and would welcome all applications from those who are due to graduate in 2024.

The event will include presentations about the Trust, information regarding the preceptorship programme and what development opportunities we offer. The day will also consist of an individual interviews and you will also have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

Main duties of the job

PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Provide and deliver a high standard of nursing, care (i.e. washing, mouth care, and toileting), recognising and meeting the specific needs of patients.

Provide and prioritise own tasks.

To carry out clinical observations on patients, recognising, recording andreporting all changes in patients condition to senior staff.

To support maintenance of fluid balance and dietary charts, recognising,recording and reporting all adverse findings to senior staff.

Undertake the escort of patients to other departments, under the direction of the registered nurse (when deemed competent).

To support nutritional needs of patients by assisting with feeding and drinking, reporting on concerns about dietary intake to senior staff.

An awareness of skin integrity over pressure points, recognising and reporting all adverse findings to senior staff.

To recognise the importance of health education and teaching of patients and carers, and refer patients to senior staff.

Document and sign for all observations and care given with counter signature from a registered practitioner.

To maintain his/her own professional development, attending courses/further training to enhance and optimise his/her role within the work area.
