Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for this essential role in the Derriford Hospital Emergency Department.
Your role will be essential for maintaining a hygienic and clean environment for patients, visitors and staff within this ever busy department.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team ensuring a high quality service to patients.
The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of general environmental cleaning on the wards and Departments including responsibility for the cleaning of all sanitary areas such as toilets, bathrooms, showers and sluice rooms. Daily and weekly cleaning of patient equipment. The provision and service of food and beverages to patients throughout the day.
The post holder is expected to comply with Trust Infection Control Policies and conduct him/herself at all times in such a manner as to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infection and comply with food safety and hygiene training.
Work with the Department team in partnership with the Hotel Services supervisors and Managers to contribute to the maintenance of a hygienic and clean environment ensuring the highest standards are met at all times.
