Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is embarking on an ambitious programme of transformation of its services, its estate and wider infrastructure. The Trust has already been awarded more than £60m of funding to develop new facilities on its Derriford estate and has been selected for potential investment under the New Hospital Programme (NHP) to redevelop the remainder of the site over the next decade. In parallel with the NHP programme, the Estate Development Team is delivering a substantial programme of work to upgrade existing facilities within a challenging operational environment.

We are looking to recruit a CAD & Systems Officer to maintain and operate a computer-aided design system covering the whole of the Trust's properties and associated services, ensuring data is captured and updated consistently on all software utilised by the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include surveying and producing feasibility, construction and as-installed drawings for new works as required by Project Manager / Senior Building Officers. Ensuring that the Estates master architects, mechanical and electrical services drawings are maintained and updated when both minor and major projects have been carried out. Updating space records on all software systems to ensure the accurate recording on Work Orders, Assets, Compliance, Asbestos, Fire, GLN labelling and all associated Facilities Management systems. Supporting the implementation of BIM and Soft Landings Strategies and have input into project specific BIM Execution Plans to facilitate smooth handover/transition into building maintenance arrangements.

The post holder will aid and assist in:

  • Taking a supporting role in Estates and Trust ERIC returns, space utilisation and services, and Estates IT and associated software.
  • Daily production, development and creation of technical reports and drawings using AutoCAD computer aided drafting system.
  • Management of storage of Hospitals Operation & Maintenance Manuals and all Health & Safety Manuals
  • Retrieval of record information
  • Daily data entry using computer systems
  • Updating technical information as required.
  • Updating and creating internal intranet pages for access to Development plans and you are here site maps.
  • Maintaining and updating the Estates MICAD Property Register (IPR) to ensure accurate information is available regarding room occupancy and estates related issues.
  • Providing assistance to Estates Senior Management in the collection and collation of data for the Estates and Facilities Information Returns (ERIC).

  • oSignificant demonstrable experience, post qualification, in an Estates related field
