Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Trust Doctor StR Lower in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, to retain our compliment of StR Lowers in providing continuity of high-quality care. This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months.
Main duties of the job
This increasingly busy unit provides excellent experience in most aspects of plastic surgery and special interests of the consultants attract wider referrals, enhancing the reputation of the unit and providing in-depth training in these areas.
This attracts a high standard of applicant, which in turn serves to enhance overall patient care and improves the service provided to the community. The Derriford Plastic Surgery Unit thus provides excellent opportunities for committed staff to expand their skills.
About us
This sub-Regional Plastic Surgery Unit is based at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where all the major operating lists are carried out. The general spectrum of plastic surgery is covered including breast reconstruction, skin cancer, sarcoma resection and reconstruction, lower limb reconstruction as well as a sub-regional burns facility and replantation service. General and specialist outpatient clinics are held regularly by all consultants in Plymouth and some specialist clinics are also held in Truro, Torbay and Tavistock.
