Job summary

The Discharge Lounge has a vacancy for a full time Ward Clerk. The Ward Clerk role is pivotal in the successful running of the Discharge Lounge.This person will support the nursing staff with admin duties such as the retrieval, tracing and sending of medical notes for all patients in the care of the nursing staff each day.The ward clerk also supports the nursing staff with the completion of Salus forms, ordering of Procurement products, change and amendment of ambulance bookings. Also, tasks such as the booking of taxi's and collection of medication.

The Discharge Lounge is open 7 days a week 7.30-20.00. The ward clerk would need to work 7.30-20.00 3/4 days a week.

The Trust covers a patient population of 450,000 incorporating South and West Devon Health Authority, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Health Authority, Plymouth Primary Care Trust, East Cornwall Primary Care Trust, East Cornwall Primary Care Group and South Hams & West Devon Primary Care Trust.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
