We are looking for Trust Doctors to provide in hours ward cover and non resident on call for the inpatient rehabilitation wards in Mount Gould Hospital.

Main duties of the job
To provide inpatient care to patients who are in the rehabilitation bedbase in Mount Gould Hospital. You will be an integral part of the medical team working alongside a team of Consultants, GPs and Specialist Doctors as well as rotational doctors in training. You will assess and treat patients providing a safe and efficient service which covers a 24 hour rota (non resident 1700-0900 weekdays and 1500-0900 weekends) escalating care of any deteriorating patients in a timely way.
On the wards you will work with a full MDT including nursing and therapy staff and will attend daily whiteboard meetings and contribute to MDT meetings that take place on the wards, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared, decisions made and actions carried out as part of excellent patient care.

- Jamie Dawe is a GP with a specialist interest in older people and looks after inpatients at MGH amongst a portfolio of roles
- Helen Morrison is a GP with a specialist interest in older people and looks after inpatients at MGH amongst a portfolio of roles
- Lotta Harajrvi is a consultant community geriatrician with broad out-of-hospital interests in the care of the elderly in rural areas. She also looks after inpatients at MGH
- Peter Burbridge is a consultant geriatrician who focuses on community frailty management but also looks after inpatients at MGH and works in acute general medicine at UHP
We enjoy support on the Mount Gould site from four GPVTS trainees, one Foundation Year 2 trainee and one ST3+ in Geriatric Medicine.

- Assessment of all new admissions to the unit and timely completion of discharge documentation.
- Review of clinical deterioration in patients at the guidance of nursing staff or medical colleagues.
- The post holder will be expected to provide reciprocal cross cover for leave of other medical staff on the MGH site. Short-term sick leave will be similarly covered.
- The post-holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring patient care is based on need with services that are accessible and acceptable to patients and carers. They will be available by appointment to meet with family members and other carers when appropriate to discuss patients management and progress.
- Inclusion on the non-resident on call rota based at Mount Gould Hospital.
