Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth (UHP) NHS Trust is delighted to announce a new opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated level 4 Cardio-respiratory apprentices to join our wonderful team. Salary during the 2 year level 4 apprenticeship will be band 3 AfC with band 4 salary upon successful completion. Training will be provided remotely by the CSR group (tuition fees fully funded) and successful applicants will be training in ECG and ambulatory monitoring application and interpretation as well as spirometry and assisting in a variety of additional cardiology diagnostic investigations.

This is a very exciting time for our Cardiology Department. We have been very fortunate to have secured a full departmental rebuild including the addition of a 4th Cardiac Catheter Lab and complete refurbishment of our existing labs. This has enabled installation of the latest technology for EPS/Ablation as well as a full range of other cardiac interventional procedures. The Cardiology refurbishment is just part of a multi-million-pound investment in redevelopment across the whole hospital site, to establish us as the largest and most modern NHS Hospital in the Southwest. The building work is well underway and is due for completion towards the end of the year.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
