University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse to lead Tavy Ward, part of our Acute Medical Unit

Our Acute Medical Unit is a thriving service where we aim to ensure the best outcomes for patients admitted with acute medical conditions; this is all delivered thanks to the efforts of a fantastic multidisciplinary clinical team made of doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, socials workers, ACPs and the excellent nursing team.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional understanding of acute medicine and urgent care with earlier experience of managing acutely unwell adults. They will have the clinical ability to support their team and ensure that patients are managed appropriately.As a Ward Manager, you will work closely with the other three Ward Managers for Acute Medicine (Acute Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Unit Thrushel Ward and the Short Stay Unit) ensuring that excellent standards of care are delivered by our nursing teams and that the Acute Medical Unit meets all the key performance indicators; this role will also involve the overseeing of patient flow through the "hot floor", some weekend working and to occasionally carry the Acute Medicine bleep in the absence of the Matron for Acute Medicine.
