Job summary

UHP is currently engaged in the procurement/implementation of a world class Electronic Patient Record system as part of the National Frontline Digitisation strategy. Due to planned retirement in March 2023 an exciting opportunity has arisen for a CIO to lead the Digital Strategy and IM&T Service. EPR implementation is seen as a truly transformational opportunity for the Trust and wider system and the CIO is central to its success. Recruiting early will ensure effective handover and parallel running, reflecting the scale of the opportunity faced.

We're looking for an experienced, dynamic innovator with a passion for transformation of clinical services through digital implementation, possessing a track record of success in leading IMT services. Our IMT and Digital teams include passionate, highly skilled, professional, experienced staff who put people at the heart of everything they do. Main duties of the job

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy and vision to ensure that the corporate IT and Telecommunications infrastructure is "fit for purpose" to ensure the operational delivery of effective IT and Information Services for University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. The post holder will play a prominent role in organisational development and strategic leadership, business change, and championing new and transformational ways of working. In addition, the post holder will need to ensure there are plans in place to enable users to fully maximise the IT systems which are put in place.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of the Information Technology function and the management and provision of Patient Records services within the Trust.
