An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Alcohol Liaison Team. We have a wonderful opportunity for a motivated individual prepared to play a key role in continuing and developing multi-professional and evidence-based practices.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and time management skills. They will work with the Hepatology Nurse Consultant and clinical lead for alcohol to develop the service, improve quality of care and work towards reducing hospital admissions and length of stay.
The ability to be able to deliver teaching sessions on Identification and Brief Advice and management of patients with Alcohol-use Disorders is essential to this role.
The post holder should have an interest in developing their skills; in return they will be supported in their professional development.

Main duties of the job
This post requires a flexible practitioner who will be an important part of an active and award winning department. The successful applicant will be expected to work independently, with the wider MDT and maintain well-developed working relationships with primary care and community drug and alcohol services, providing clinical expertise and knowledge relating to the identification, assessment, treatment and management of patients admitted to hospital with Alcohol-use Disorders.

The post holder will develop and maintain robust alcohol withdrawal protocols and educational support for health professionals, within the inpatient setting.
The post holder will be involved in high quality audit and research in the field of alcohol misuse and use appropriate data collection tools in conjunction with community alcohol and substance misuse services. They will be expected to collate data on patient interactions, attendances and maintain the appropriate databases.
