Job summary

UHP Emergency Department are looking for a Band 6 Clinical Educator to expand the Clinical Education team and drive our vision to have a nationally renowned educational pathway.

Main duties of the job

To assist in delivering the organisations education strategy, optimising learning and development opportunities to support a collaborative multi-professional workforce.

To promote the learning culture to deliver best practice to support all learners within a high quality learning environment.

To promote joint working with other clinical educators to provide a core group of educators crossing the whole spectrum of services at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

To support the provision of educational programmes ensuring that high standards are monitored and maintained within the framework of clinical governance and that resources are utilised effectively and efficiently.

  • In collaboration with the Ward managers in the Emergency Department/CDU take an active role in meeting the education & training needs of the staff.
  • To identify the educational needs of the staff within the Emergency Department/CDU & to establish a rolling programme of education.
  • To assess competency in delivering key clinical skills
