- Advanced specialist knowledge of, and clinical skill in, the management of upper limb orthopaedic conditions, especially relating to hands and their OT application; guided by standards and protocols laid down by the regional hand unit at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary (DRI), British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT)
- Advanced diagnostic and assessment skills required to respond to patients with an acute or chronic musculoskeletal problem
- Risk factors assessment & report writing
- Clinical leadership skills / multi-professional teamwork
- Clinical Governance - setting standards, evidence based practice & CPD / supervision
- Effective: Teaching skills, Communication skills, Presentation skills
