Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ward/Department Activity and Housekeeping Coordinator to join our team. The purpose of this role is to coordinate all facilities services in collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients.

Your efforts will directly support the provision of high-quality patient care through personal actions and a commitment to continuous improvement. Knowledge & Skill Requirements

Essential

  • Basic Literacy and numeracy skills
  • A knowledge and Willing to develop basic skills and competencies relevant to the role
  • Able to work well within a team and individually
  • Effective communication which may require some tact and persuasion within a group and on a one to one basis
  • The ability to work calmly and efficiently when under pressure
  • Able to relate to all grades of staff e.g. taking directions from superiors
  • Ability to cope with occasional exposure to aggressive behaviour
  • Ability to deal calmly with patients with distressed or anxious behaviour
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education including GCSE's.

Desirable

  • Training relevant to therapeutic activity related courses

Further Training

Essential

  • Willingness to attend mandatory SFH trust training
  • Identify own learning needs

Desirable

  • Food hygiene certificate

Experience

  • Working with people with mental health problems
  • Experience in Occupational Therapy
