Job summary

We are delighted to be advertising for a full time Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work within ENT. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has considerable experience within ENT. The post holder will take a lead role in promoting clinical excellence through their practice, participating in evidence-based practice and through facilitating, educating, supervising, supporting and developing both registrants and non-registered staff on a daily basis.

The post holder will join an expanding Speech and Language Therapy service at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust. The position is offered as a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025.

Main duties of the job

The purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

Provide an ENT Speech and Language Therapy service as part of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS services to Adults.

Supports patients with speech/voice/ communication and/or dysphagia needs, covering inpatients and outpatients

Preventative information and guidance, working to empower parents, carers, other professionals and agencies to support speech, language and communication skills as well as eating and drinking.

Provide individual assessment, individual and group therapy and management, training, advice and liaison through a consultative and coaching approaches, as appropriate.

Work as part of the wider multi- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person centred services through tailored packages of care, training and mentoring

Clinical and professional expertise in order that those with speech, language and communication needs and/or dysphagia needs and their carers and families benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective speech and language therapy service within the designated specialism/setting/district.

Responsible for providing specialist SLT assessment, formulation and diagnosis, requiring advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and interpretation and analysis, and subsequent therapy/management programmes within the designated specialism/setting/district.
