Job summary
Nottinghamshire Health Informatics Service (NHIS) are an Information Management & Technology (IM&T) service provider. We supply digital services including Infrastructure Management, Cyber Security, a full range of 1st, 2nd & 3rd Line Technical Support Services, along with Professional and Transformation services including Project Management & Training teams. NHIS are a shared service hosted by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (SFHFT) supporting Health and Care organisations across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS). We work collaboratively with our partner & customer organisations to help deliver their digital & transformational initiatives & strategies, providing expertise and knowledge gained through years of experience. We provide support to over 13,000 users at nearly 800 sites with around 150 internal dedicated staff. Our main aim is to help improve health and care services for citizens by working with organisations to improve the digital experience for the Health and Care workforce and for our local population, ultimately providing a data rich ICS with a focus on the sharing of information and interoperability.
This role sits within the Strategy and Delivery Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of NHIS. The main objective of the Strategy and Delivery SBU is the delivery of digital Transformation, project support and business change aligned to local and National digital Strategies.
Main duties of the job
This post will be hosted through Nottinghamshire Health Informatics Service (NHIS) whilst line management and day to day leadership and support will be provided directly by NEMS Community Benefit Services (CBS).This provides a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to utilise the knowledge and guidance of a successful digital team whilst working closely with leadership and operational colleagues within NEMS.
NEMS is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to providing health and social care services to the people of Nottinghamshire. The post holder will support NEMS in the development and implementation of a Digital Strategy across the organisation and will be the main point of contact for NEMS colleagues and the wider Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care system (ICS) in relation to our Digital Strategy ambitions and roadmap.
The post holder will embed and work to a culture of digital innovation and transformation, supporting the NEMS leadership team in identifying and leading on achieving digital improvements to enhance the delivery of patient care.

- Significant overall experience of working in an operational capacity in a health care setting, with extensive experience at a senior level
- Experience of setting up/facilitating events for groups of varying sizes
- Proven experience of completing digital business activities, such as the development of key strategy documents
- Experience of managing and delivering a major information system
- Experience of developing innovative digital business initiatives which will help improve quality and performance throughout organisation
- Experience of managing complex programmes of work using the PRINCE2 methodology
- Ability to negotiate supplier contracts/costs
- Proven advanced communication skills and an ability to communicate highly complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders with varying degrees of understanding. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
