Job summary
Our established Patient Experience team require an enthusiastic Patient Experience Support Officer. This is a fantastic role where you will be in a position to impact on the services we deliver by supporting the wider team and divisions to understand patient feedback which drives service improvements at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
- Be a point of contact for patients, their families and carers and to work alongside colleagues to help people with any questions or concerns they have about their care
- Liaise with colleagues to help find solutions to any problems raised by patients and their families.
- Ensure patients, carers and the public have access to timely and high quality information, advice and signposting to departments and services.

The post holder will work closely with all departments across the Trust, reporting directly to the Patient Experience Manager, and liaising with local Healthwatch, patient representatives, patient focus groups, other relevant stakeholders, and external partners.
Working as part of the patient experience and support team, the post will also participate in a range of patient experience activities and events.
You must have excellent written and communication skills, together with proven experience in a patient focused role. You must be organised and self-motivated and have the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will be committed to taking patient involvement forward, be innovative and have a positive "can do" attitude.
Main duties of the job
1. To act as the first point of contact and provide support and advice to enquirers.2. To act as the first point of contact for anyone wishing to make a formal complaint.3. Assist in maintaining accurate databases for the patient experience team.4. Ensure that all correspondence received within the Trust is acted on appropriately5. Consistently work as a team member6. Participate in complaints training7. Record and monitor all enquiries in line with the departmental standards.8. Support the patient involvement agenda when planning and co-ordinating community groups and events on an ad hoc bases9. To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably regarded10. Take responsibility for the timely, effective and efficient management and contributing to the co-ordination of the Patient Experience function.
