Job summary

We're excited about an opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced clinical pharmacist to lead our neonatal and paediatric pharmacy service. This role involves drawing from diverse clinical experiences across primary and secondary care settings.

We're seeking a pharmacist capable of optimising treatments for our neonatal and paediatric patients, utilising their expert pharmacy knowledge to ensure the safety and effectiveness of medications.

A keen interest in medicines optimisation within these areas is crucial to maximising the potential of this role. It's essential to ensure our treatments align with local, regional, and national evidence-based standards.

This position offers excellent opportunities to support multidisciplinary collaboration, fostering knowledge and expertise in a highly specialised field.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Pharmacy knowledge associated with a Pharmacy degree course.
  • Experience gained through pre-registration training.
  • Experience gained through vocational practice.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching pharmaceutical knowledge to other pharmacy staff.
  • Experience of staff supervision/management.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc, B.Pharm or MPharm in Pharmacy.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Diploma in clinical pharmacy gained through postgraduate study, CPPE primary care pharmacy pathway, or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Specialist post-graduate qualification or evidence of specialist post-graduate studies, particularly in the field of antimicrobial drug therapy.
  • Evidence of commitment to CPD.
  • Qualified independent prescriber

  • Experience of drug usage evaluation, financial reporting and critical appraisal.
