Job summary

The role of Specialty Doctor in Community Paediatrics will be based at King's Mill Hospital. The role may suit Paediatricians considering a long-term career in Community Paediatrics or who are looking to gain more experience in Community Paediatrics as part of their career development. Clinical Consultant support is available.

The Service offers care to children and young people in the Mansfield, Ashfield and Newark Districts who have neuro-disabling or neurodevelopmental conditions, alongside general paediatric medical needs. We have close links with our colleagues in General Paediatrics, specialties and therapy services both within the local Hospitals and in the Community.

The role will provide clinics predominantly in the Newark/Ollerton area, but may include the Mansfield and/or Ashfield areas dependent on candidate and need of the service. The post is 10 PAs with no out of hours on-call commitment.

Main duties of the job

We are keen to support areas of personal interest within the service, eg, teaching and safeguarding. We also offer opportunities to develop leadership and management skills and will support career progression within Specialty Doctor grades or through the CESR process.

We have recently commenced an additional project which includes 2 further Specialist nurses and a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist based within the team to support our ASD/ADHD assessments.

The appointee will joint a well established friendly team of 8 Consultant Community Paediatricians, 2 Locum posts, 2 Specialty Doctors, 1 Specialist Registrar and 3 Specialist Nurses.
