Job summary

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Clinical Audit Assistant to join our team. This position is for 18.75 hours, with work scheduled for all-day on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings.

The Clinical Audit Assistant will be responsible for developing and maintaining national and local clinical audit databases related to Stroke services. The post holder will collaborate closely with clinical teams to accurately collect complex clinical data and prepare data reports to support service development.

The successful applicant must possess:

  • Entry-level knowledge of data collection, spreadsheets/databases, and clinical audit.
  • A working knowledge of the NHS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Windows-based applications.
  • Experience with Hospital computer systems (e.g., Medway).
  • Data entry experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team

Knowledge Requirements

Essential

  • Entry level knowledge and understanding of a range of routine work procedures particularly those based on data /information collection and processing e.g. Knowledge of data collection, spreadsheets/databases and clinical audit.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software / Windows-based applications.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, clinical audit / data validation and analysis gained on the job / further training
  • Multidisciplinary Team working

Desirable

  • Intermediate level knowledge and understanding of a range of routine work procedures particularly those based on data /information collection and processing.

Qulaifications

  • Good general education standard/ GCSE qualifications in English and maths (grade C or above) or equivalent.
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).

  • Study beyond GCSE.
  • Advanced ECDL.

Experience

Essential

  • Data entry
  • Extracting data from computerised databases and producing reports
  • Presentation of data verbally and in written format

Futher Training

Essential

  • Hospital computer systems e.g. PAS, case note tracking, ORION.
  • Wide range of medical / surgical terminology knowledge acquired through further training.

Desirable

  • Data analysis / elementary statistics.

Experience

  • Previous experience within a clinical environment/healthcare setting at Ward Receptionist or equivalent level.
