Job summary
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a specialty doctor in ophthalmology.
We are delighted to offer this permanent specialty doctor post to join a team of current 6 ophthalmology consultants working both at King's Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital. This is a new post in a busy, dynamic department treating a variety of ophthalmological conditions but the post is for a specialty doctor in ophthalmology. This post is to complement our existing ophthalmologist and specialty doctor team working within the ophthalmology directorate. The post-holder will undertake on call commitment of approximately a 1 in 7 rota.

Essential
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full registration with GMC with a licence to practice
Experience
Essential
- Must have completed at least 4 years full time postgraduate training at least 2 of which must be in Ophthalmology
Desirable
- Diabetic retinopathy screening and laser experience
Teaching
Desirable
- Experience with audit, teaching or research/critical review of literature essential. Evidence of teaching medical students, nursing or para-medical staff
Research
Essential
- Completed at least one audit project related to ophthalmology
