Job summary
The successful candidate will join a Radiology Department at an exciting time of rapid growth and service development.
Following the recent installation of the first SPECT CT camera at SFH, an additional nuclear medicine radiologist is sought to support service expansion and innovation. One PA of PET CT reporting will be performed at the PET centre at Nottingham University hospitals on the City site (if desired). At KMH, reporting is performed on PACS and one of two Xeleris workstations.
The successful candidate will be an ARSAC license holder or eligible to apply for an ARSAC license within six months of taking up the post.
The candidate will, in addition provide general reporting for acute and cold cases and participate in the on call rota. There is scope to bring or develop a further sub-specialty interest to complement existing expertise within the main Radiology Department.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties
- To provide a comprehensive, modern and high quality imaging service to the Sherwood Hospitals NHS Trust.
- To participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- To participate in the development of the service, working to the service specifications and providing input into strategy and planning to the Service Director and management team as required.
- To cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absence, on a reciprocal basis.
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
- To undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels, as required and depending on discussions with the leadership team.
- To identify safeguarding issues and take appropriate action according to Trust and Regional guidelines to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- To carry out duties with due regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy at all times.
- To comply with Trust Health and Safety policies and maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- To have knowledge of and employ the basic principles of infection control practice and to ensure adherence to the requirements in the Infection Control Manual.
