Job summary
We are currently seeking to recruit a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with an interest in high risk pregnancy care to join the Women and Children's Division at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a team of thirteen Consultants providing services to the local population within Mansfield and Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood. The successful candidate will provide support and leadership for our high risk pregnancy service as well as further development of the obstetric medicine service. The appointment will help to continue to provide excellent intrapartum care, support and training within the on call component of the post, meeting the requirements of CNST as well as the Ockenden report. Although an ability to undertake gynaecology , both emergency and planned care, would be beneficial to the service,it would not be essential for this roledependent upon the successful candidate's skill set and wishes.

- Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
- MRCOG
- Advanced Labour Ward Practitioner ATSM
Desirable
- High Risk pregnancy ATSM or equivalent experience
- An additional obstetric ATSM that would complement the existing skills within the department
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience in high risk pregnancy
Desirable
- Ability to scan in obstetric settings
Teaching
Desirable
- MOET or PROMPT instructor
- Evidence of training for teaching role
- Education Supervisor training
Management
Desirable
- Experience of admin e.g. rota organisation
- Evidence of MDT experience
Research and Audit

- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
