Exciting opportunities have arisen at Mansfield Community Hospital to join the team as a Health Care Support Worker (part time and full time hours considered).

Mansfield Community Hospital has three medical wards, Lindhurst Ward, Oakham Ward and Chatsworth Centre, caring for general medical patients requiring rehabilitation. We have a well-established, ward -based multi-disciplinary team, striving to provide patients with excellent patient centred care from arrival to the planning of a safe discharge.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure outstanding patient care. This will be a challenging and exciting opportunity and will enable the individual to develop new and existing skills. It will involve a mixture of both day shifts and night shifts to meet our staffing needs.

Mansfield Community Hospital has three Medical wards, Lindhurst Ward, Oakham Ward and Chatsworth Centre, the vacancies will be required to cover all three wards.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Must understand basic requirements for individualised personal care
  • Recognise people's right to privacy and dignity, treating every person with respect

Desirable

  • Awareness of Safeguarding issues

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ 2 in care or willingness to work towards.
  • Educated to a good standard of general education equivalent to GCSE Maths & English level C or above
  • Care Certificate or commitment to achieving within 2 weeks of commencement

Desirable

  • "Care Certificate" qualification. NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care

Further Training

Essential

  • Able to attend a 5-day Clinical Induction Committed to attending further training and development as identified

Experience

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate clear and robust verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Previous care work experience
  • Previous face-to-face customer care experience

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting

Contractual Requirements

  • Able to work flexibly on a varied shift pattern according to the roster including nights and weekends
