Job summary

Castle ward at Newark hospital is looking for nurses to join their busy ward specialising in the care of elderly patients.

The Ward accommodates 18 patients with a mixture of bays and side rooms.

We have a well-established medical team which we work with daily, and ward based multidisciplinary staff to provide the patients with patient centred care.

We specialise in complex discharges for patients returning home with care packages or going into 24-hour care. We also provide rehabilitation for patients whilst on the ward.

We provide activities for patients whilst as an inpatient, promoting independence where able and mental and physical activities.

Main duties of the job

The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

The post holder will support the Ward/Department Leader in ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care.

Provide and monitor the nursing care for a designated group of patients during a care episode.

Actively contribute to an effective learning environment.

The post holder will promote a team nursing philosophy of care.
