Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support a key project for our Pathology services. Sherwood Forest Hospitals is working with Nottingham University Hospitals Pathology as part of a procurement and installation of a new Laboratory Information Management System.
Please note. This is a fixed term (12 months) developmental role to support the pathology departments with this project.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone with a passion for IT and an interest in science and so you should be proficient in IT systems, able to organise your own workload and have excellent organisational skills to support the development and implementation of this exciting project. Good communication and team working skills are required as the role involves regular interactions with staff of all grades and across all disciplines.

- Excellent professional, confident communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to understand and relay complex information to people at all levels
- Ability to work within a small team and as part of the wider departmental team
- Ability to communicate information with clarity and precision and using a variety of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use keyboard and computerised data systems to a high level of competence (PAS, Microsoft office)
Desirable
- Awareness of management processes within the NHS
Qualifications-Academic/ Craft/ Professional
Essential
- To be educated to GCSE or equivalent standard with passes in English and Maths grade A*- C
- RSA III Word / Text Processing or equivalent qualification or evidence of competency gained through experience

- Passes in NVQ II / III in administration
Planning and organisational Skills
Essential
- Ability to plan and manage own work schedule
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills and ability to demonstrate initiative
- Prioritises/reprioritises own workload to co-ordinate deadlines as determined by others
