Job summary
We are thrilled to welcome qualified Sonographers to an open day at King's Mill Hospital on Thursday 28th April 2022. We have exciting positions available for Band 7 Sonographers to join #TeamSFH, please complete the application form to register your interest and book your place!
The successful candidate must hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or Equivalent and be HCPC registered.
Please note interviews will take place during the Open Day.

Our ultrasound department has a team of sonographers who cover the core elements of general medical, obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound including early pregnancy and specialist roles including MSK, neonatal hips and heads, head and neck and contrast enhanced ultrasound. We are a progressive, expanding department who actively encourage and support role development and CPD. You will be responsible for reporting all of your own work and are expected to participate in training student sonographers.
The role may include travel to our sites at Mansfield Community and Newark Hospitals.
We are happy to consider both full time and part time applicants.
Main duties of the job
To perform and report on ultrasound examinations prescribed by medical practitioners, whilst observing departmental protocols and procedures. The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
To complete good quality ultrasound examinations on obstetric, gynaecological and general ultrasound examinations in line with departmental protocols
To be able to effectively communicate with patients to ensure they are adequately informed, are able to consent to the examination and are able to ask questions or raise concerns
Communicates highly sensitive complex information ensuring that empathy and reassurance are met for the patient
To communicate and liaise with other members of staff and disciplines as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care and an efficient service
