We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the HSJ 2020 Finance Team of the Year, for a 12 month fixed term contract.

As the Head of Planning, Strategy and Costing at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be at the centre of planning for a financially sustainable future and will have a strong focus on collaborative working.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer the successful candidate will ensure that the financial strategy of the Trust is aligned to Nottinghamshire ICS financial ambitions and the operational strategies of the Trust. The post-holder will support the Trust in understanding activity based costing and underlying financial analytics with the purpose to support future financial strategy and financial sustainability.
The successful candidate will be welcomed into our Future Focused Finance accredited level 2 team with a strong focus on wellbeing, collaboration, reflection and continuous improvement. Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for the leadership, development, performance, and review of the Costing and Financial Planning and Strategy sections and works with the Deputy CFO to ensure to support the Trust in delivering all Trust and statutory targets and legal requirements. A key part of the role is working with partners in the Nottinghamshire ICS and local NHSE/I office.
The post holder is responsible for:
- The development of strategic and operational financial plans, including alignment with workforce, demand, and capacity plans, to deliver the Trusts strategic objectives in accordance with NHSE/I regulation, financial professional standards, and audit assurance.
- the ongoing development of costing in the Trust, including the submission of the annual National Costing Collection to NHSE/I and development of Service Line Reporting.
- the ongoing development of all financial aspects of the Trusts Medium-Term Financial Strategy and supports the Head of Financial Management on the financial aspects of the Annual budget setting process. Ensuring that medium term financial forecasts include impact of activity projections, identification of potential risks and actions to mitigate those risks.
The post-holder is required to deputise for the Deputy CFO as required, across the range of professional responsibilities, including attendance at meetings.
