Job summary

The post holders overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through the personal actions and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced Neonatal Nurse and motivated practitioner with excellent leadership qualities to join our Neonatal team.

Within our 12 cot local Neonatal Unit we have a combination of intensive care, high dependency and special care cots. We are situated in a busy District General Hospital with around 3500 deliveries a year within our Maternity department. We are a friendly, well-equipped unit which is part of the East Midland Neonatal Operational Delivery Network.

The post holder will utilise and integrate evidence into practice.

Main duties of the job

We have an enthusiastic approach to Family Integrated Care and we are proud of the positive feedback we receive from our parents about their experiences on the Unit. We work closely with our maternity, midwifery and paediatric colleagues within our division.

You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team who are committed to high quality neonatal care. You will need to demonstrate to us that you can make a difference to our patient experience through your caring attitude, commitment and support to continually improve and enhance the patient experience and pathway.

You will need

  • to be RN, RN Child or RM and have recognized neonatal and teaching qualifications.
  • a desire and focus on making a major contribution to the quality and care of neonates and the families
  • available to work day and night rotation.
  • have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards both your professional development and contributing to the development of the service.
  • Leadership qualities and excellent communication skills are essential as you will be required to be the Nurse in charge on some of your shifts.
