Job summary
A full time Consultant is required and will be based at Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton in Ashfield and also providing clinical services at Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital.
This appointment is a permanent appointment to sustain existing and future demand in Mansfield & Ashfield, Newark & Sherwood and rural Nottinghamshire.
The timetable and job plan will include leading the multi-disciplinary board rounds and ward rounds, daytime on calls, providing outpatient services, participation in appropriate MDT and team/service meetings.
During their non-clinical sessions, you will be expected to be active and contribute implementation and lead the service improvements.
Main duties of the job
- Consultant ward rounds
- Give advice to GPs
- Vetting and triage of referrals
- Provide Outpatient Clinics
- Provide weekend consultant cover
- Participate with General Internal Medicine (GIM) rota
- Contribution to service improvements
- Support trainees / clinical development fellows
- Active participation in audit and clinical governance

- Membership of Royal College of Physicians or show evidence of equivalent qualification
- Entry on Specialist Register or CCT within 6 months of date of interview for this

- Entry on specialist registrar with CCT in Diabetes

- Demonstrable ability as a teacher with evidence of training for the role
