Job summary
This is replacement post/s, the remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients from Child Health, and to provide and develop services to the Trust's patients. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group.
It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.
The paediatric department at King's is a PAFTA-award-winning training centre offering specialty training to paediatric speciality trainees, GPVTS trainees, foundation doctors, and dedicated CESR support and key rotations for international trainees.
This role is for a middle-grade fellow to join the paediatric emergency department with a one-day per week commitment to a specialist interest in simulation, trauma or ambulatory care.
Main duties of the job
Duties
Specialist interest: One day per week dedicated to either trauma, simulation or ambulatory care.
Clinical: Remainder of job plan spent clinical in the ED, delivering all aspects of care of medical and surgical paediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department, supervision of more junior paediatric/emergency department colleagues in the department
General Paediatrics:
Evening, nights and weekend cover for the general paediatric service at middle grade level as per rota.
Teaching: Assistance in conjunction with consultants, lecturers and more junior trainees with the teaching of undergraduates
Research: The department is actively involved in PERUKI studies and the successful candidate will be encouraged to get involved
