Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Information Technology Clinical Systems (ITCS) reporting team working on innovative analytics and reporting solutions from our new Epic EPR. The role is shared across Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KCH) and is ideal for a person who has an understanding of NHS data and wants to become an expert in Epic's analyst tools to deliver the benefits of data-enabled healthcare.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of analysts supported by an application manager. Key responsibilities include:
Analysis of business requirements in order to develop end to end reporting solutions using Epic's Cogito (analytics) tools;
Provide analytical support and guidance to operational and management teams, relating to Cogito reports, self-service reporting tools and the underlying data structures;
- Analyse, design and implement solutions for problems or issues with Cogito reports anddashboards
- Producing tip sheets and documentation; and facilitating other information teams' use of Epic reporting tools.
- Supporting Epic upgrades;

This ambition is supported by a forward-looking and strategic approach, and significant investment in a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) which will catalyse a programme of work across both Trusts to transform the way technology and data is used across our services.
The successful applicant will develop NHS operational and clinical reporting from Epic Cogito front-end tools, Reporting Workbench, Radar, and SlicerDicer, as well as by querying our Caboodle data warehouse using SQL. To achieve this theyll work closely with the ITCS teams which support Epic applications; informatics departments in partner organisations; data warehouse teams; and end-users across every staff group to provide advice and guidance, develop reports and analytics solutions in Epic and to support using the Cogito tools. Furthermore, they will engage in a team-based development process designed around agile methodologiesand collaborate in a formal system of change management to enablesafe transition of information products and systems from design to operation.
Understanding of NHS operations and Trust data needs are essential to this role.
Obtaining and maintaining Epic accreditation in the Cogito module is essential. If you do not have a Cogito accreditation, you will be expected to obtain one within the first few months in this role.
