Job summary
The Corporate Governance Officer will work as part of a small team, to develop and maintain arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide advice to staff, Directors and Governors on matters of Corporate Governance, such as regulatory and statutory compliance issues, Board and Committee reports, interpreting procedures and rules within the Trust's constitution, and assessing the eligibility of Foundation Trust Members and Governors. They will help ensure the statutory returns to the Trust's regulators are made in accordance with regulatory requirements.
The Corporate Governance Officer will work as part of a small team, to develop and maintain arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of the Trust.
They will provide a full secretariat service to the Trust's Board of Directors, Council of Governors, their Sub Committees and other key Trust Committees as agreed, ensuring they run efficiently, effectively, and that decisions and recommendations are properly recorded and followed through. The post-holder will maintain the Register of Trust Members, and the Registers of Directors and Governors and their interests.
This role will involve considerable contact with the Chairman, Non Executive and Executive Directors, Governors and senior staff within the organisation.
