Job summary

We are searching for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join the well respected and progressive Haematology & Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Team at King's College Hospital for a 6 month secondment.

We are a tertiary referral centre for the treatment of haematological malignancies, one of the largest Bone Marrow Transplant centres in the UK and one of the first hospitals in the UK to provide licensed CAR-T cell therapies. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist to develop their clinical pharmacy skills in this progressive speciality. It involves working to deliver a high quality, cost effective clinical pharmacy service to wards and departments within Haematology at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a dedicated pharmacy team to lead, provide and develop specialist clinical pharmacy services to Haematology and Oncology. The post holder will also support the Principal Pharmacist for Haematology and Oncology in managing the team. The post holder will liaise between wards, departments and pharmacy to ensure that pharmacy services are tailored to meet the Care Groups needs wherever possible.

  • MPharm (Masters Degree)
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification / experience
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete

Desirable

  • Member of the RPS faculty

Knowledge and Experience

  • Maintains a broad level of pharmacy practice
  • Appropriate post registration experience in hospital Pharmacy or equivalent area of practice with assessed competencies
