Job summary

To deliver all completed discharge medication and In-Patient medication to wards and departments in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

To deliver all medicines to wards and clinics from Pharmacy

To deliver urgent medicines from Pharmacy Aseptic unit to wards/Clinics

To attend promptly to all customers both internal and external and provide a high standard of customer service.

To be responsible for the accurate scanning of in-patients medicines before delivering to wards

To undergo training to ensure competence

To assist where appropriate with the training of new staff

To aid team approach communications to patient care and risk by dealing with queries from ward staff and where necessary refer any questions to a member of the pharmacy team

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent, grade C or above

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 certificate in pharmacy skills (QCF), BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences qualification or equivalent or currently undertaking course

Knowledge and Experience

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of EPIC dispensing system
  • Experience of working in a Pharmacy (community or hospital)
